Terms of Use
Draft for review — not yet in effect.
Who these terms are between
Mauli Classes is a private coaching class. Mauli Classes is operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad as an individual tuition/coaching provider. "We" and "Mauli Classes" mean Mauli Classes (operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad). "The Teacher" means her in her role of running the class and the app.
These terms cover the Mauli Classes mobile app and the pages at admin.mauliclasses.com. They sit alongside the Privacy Policy, the Child & Student Privacy Notice, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Study Material & Intellectual Property Policy, which form part of these terms. Any admission, fee or course arrangement you have with the class is covered separately (see the Fees, Payments, Cancellation & Refund Information page at /fee-policy).
Parents, guardians and students
- Mauli Classes teaches Nursery, UKG and Class 1 to Class 12 (students from age 4), and treats every student as a minor (under 18).
- Under Indian law a person under 18 cannot enter into a binding contract. So these terms are accepted by the parent or guardian, for themselves and on behalf of their child.
- A student also confirms in the app that they have read and understood these terms and will follow the rules. That confirmation helps the student know what is expected. It is not a contract with the student and does not replace the parent's acceptance or consent.
- Nursery and UKG children do not have their own login. The parent or guardian uses their own Parent account for the child, and there is no student confirmation step for these children. The parent's acceptance and consent cover the child.
- From Class 1, a student has their own login. For a student who is still learning to read, a parent or guardian may help the student use the app and go through the student's confirmation with them.
- The parent or guardian is responsible for helping their child use Mauli Classes properly and for keeping an eye on how the child uses it.
Who can use Mauli Classes
- Access is by invitation only. The Teacher creates each account and sends an invitation code. There is no public sign-up.
- Accounts are for students currently or previously taught by Mauli Classes and their parents or guardians.
- A student can use the app only after a linked parent or guardian has accepted our policies and given consent for that child (see the Parent / Guardian Consent Notice).
The Teacher's role
The Teacher runs the class and the app. She decides which accounts to create, which parents are linked to which students, which classes, batches, homework, tests and material each student receives, and when results are published. She can correct records, end access when a student leaves, and pause access if these terms are broken. She cannot give consent on a parent's behalf.
Your account
- Keep your password private. Do not share your account or let anyone else sign in as you. Each student and each parent has their own account.
- Tell the Teacher straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- Give correct information when you create your account and tell the Teacher if it changes, so records and messages reach the right person.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account unless it happened because of our own failure to keep it secure.
What the app is for
Mauli Classes is a tool for teaching and running the class. You may use it only for personal educational purposes connected with the class. It shows:
- Attendance marked by the Teacher.
- Homework set by the Teacher, the student's submissions and photos, and the Teacher's feedback.
- Study material shared by the Teacher, shown as watermarked copies in the app's own viewer.
- Tests and results, which students and parents see once the Teacher publishes them, and progress summaries based on attendance, homework and marks.
- Fee records and fee reminders (parents only). The app only records fees paid outside the app. It does not take or process payments.
- Announcements and in-app notifications from the Teacher.
A linked parent with active consent can see their child's attendance, homework, photos, feedback, published results, progress, study material and fee records. Students do not see fee records.
Fees, cancellations and refunds
The full fee rules are on the Fees, Payments, Cancellation & Refund Information page at /fee-policy. In short:
- Fees are paid to the class outside the app. The app only records them, and parents see the records and in-app reminders.
- There is no late fee, no interest and no hidden charge.
- A refund may be requested only within 7 calendar days from the student's first attended class, as explained on that page. After that, fees are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
- Missed classes: if a student misses a class, no replacement class is owed automatically. Notes or homework may be shared where possible, and the Teacher may agree an exception.
- Classes cancelled by Mauli Classes: where reasonably possible, a class cancelled by Mauli Classes will be rescheduled.
- Leaving: parents are requested to provide 15 days' advance notice where reasonably possible when discontinuing classes. This is a request only; it is not a penalty or an extra charge.
If the fee page and these terms ever differ about fees, the fee page applies.
Study material and content
Study material in the app belongs to Mauli Classes, the Teacher or other rights holders. You receive a limited permission to use it for the student's own study while the student is with the class. Students keep the rights in their own homework, and give Mauli Classes a limited permission to store, review and show it for teaching. Details are in the Study Material & Intellectual Property Policy at /study-material-policy.
Study material is marked "MAULI CLASSES" and opens in a viewer that is designed to discourage screenshots and screen recording where the phone allows it. These measures cannot stop all copying. You must not try to get around them, remove or hide the watermark, or copy, share, forward, upload or sell the material.
Things you must not do
- Share your login or use someone else's account.
- Try to reach information that is not meant for you, including other students' records.
- Copy, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except as far as the law allows despite this restriction.
- Use automated tools to collect ("scrape") information from the app or website.
- Interfere with the app, test its security, or overload it, without the Teacher's written permission.
- Upload anything unlawful, harmful or unrelated to homework.
The Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use explains these rules in more detail.
If the rules are broken
If someone breaks these terms, the Teacher may respond in proportion to what happened: a reminder, removing content, pausing access, or ending access. Where it is reasonable, she will tell the parent first and give a chance to explain. In an urgent case, for example to protect a child or the security of other families' information, she may act first and explain afterwards. Ending app access does not by itself end any separate admission or fee arrangement.
Leaving the class
Parents are requested to provide 15 days' advance notice where reasonably possible when discontinuing classes.
Stopping or leaving classes is not a request to delete an account or information. When a student leaves, the Teacher marks the student as having left and switches off app access. The class keeps the student's history, such as attendance, progress and fee records, for 12 months after leaving and then reviews it (see the Privacy Policy at /privacy). If a former student comes back, the Teacher can reactivate the same record. If you want an account deleted, you need to make a separate deletion request, as explained below.
Deleting your account
You can ask to delete your account at any time in the app (More → Privacy & account → Delete my account), at admin.mauliclasses.com/delete-account, or through the Support form in the app or on our website. The Delete Your Account page at /delete-account and the Privacy Policy explain what is deleted and what is kept.
Other services and links
The Teacher may share links to other services, for example a link to an online class meeting or an outside learning resource. Invitations are sent by the Teacher over WhatsApp. These services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Availability
We try to keep Mauli Classes working, but it may sometimes be slow or unavailable, for example during maintenance, internet problems or problems at our service providers. We may change or remove features. If a change removes something important to you, we will try to tell you in advance.
Educational outcomes
- Mauli Classes supports teaching and class administration. It does not replace the Teacher's judgement.
- Attendance, marks, results and progress shown in the app are educational records kept by the class. They are not official school or board results.
- Practice tests and progress summaries help students prepare. They do not guarantee any mark, rank, admission, or exam or board result.
- No AI features are active. If AI-assisted suggestions are ever introduced, they will only assist the Teacher, and she will check them (see the AI-Assisted Learning Policy at /ai-policy).
- Final academic decisions are made by the Teacher.
- If you think a record is wrong, ask the Teacher to correct it.
Our responsibility
[OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: final wording of the limitation of liability section]
To the extent permitted by law, Mauli Classes is not responsible for losses caused by short interruptions of the app, by events outside our reasonable control, or by the misuse of an account whose password was shared by its holder.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Indian law, including liability for our own negligence where the law does not allow it to be excluded, or any rights you have under consumer protection or data protection law.
Changes to these terms
Each version of these terms has a version number and an effective date. If we make a material change, the app will show you the new version and you will need to accept it before you continue. Minor changes, such as clearer wording, will be published here with a new date without asking you to accept again.
Law and disputes
Please raise any problem with the Teacher first, or use the Support form in the app or on our website; most issues can be sorted out quickly that way.
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of India. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — courts/jurisdiction]
