Mauli Classes · version 1.0-draft · effective 2026-10-14Draft — under review

Draft for review — not yet in effect.

Our approach

Mauli Classes respects the work of authors, publishers and teachers. Material in the app is shared only with enrolled students and their parents, inside a private app, and is not publicly available. Even so, if you believe something in Mauli Classes uses your work without permission, we want to hear about it and will look into it carefully.

This page explains how to tell us, what we need from you, and what happens next. It is a simple review process designed for a small Indian coaching class.

Who can send a notice

  • The owner of the copyright, or a person authorised to act for the owner.
  • If you are a student or parent and you think something in the app is copied from somewhere it should not be, you can also tell the Teacher informally. We will review it in the same way.

Where to send it

Email your notice to Mauli Classes (operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad) at support@mauliclasses.com, with "Copyright notice" in the subject line.

What your notice should include

To let us find the material and act quickly, please include:

  • Who you are: your name, and if you act for someone else, the rights holder's name and your authority to act for them.
  • The work: a description of the work you own, such as the book title, edition, chapter or page, or the test paper.
  • Where it is in Mauli Classes: as much as you know, for example the subject, the class or batch, the title of the study material item, and the date it was shared. Material in the app is private, so a description is fine; you do not need a link.
  • Why it infringes: a short explanation of why you believe the use is not permitted.
  • Your contact details: postal address, email address and phone number.
  • Good faith: a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
  • Accuracy: a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  • Signature: your physical or electronic signature.

If something is missing, we will ask you for it. We may not be able to act on a notice that does not identify the work or the material.

How we review a notice

  • We acknowledge your notice and give it a reference.
  • We identify the material and check what you have told us.
  • The Teacher considers whether the use falls within what Indian copyright law permits, for example use by a teacher in the course of instruction. Where needed, we take legal advice.
  • Where the notice appears valid, or while we are reviewing it, we may disable students' and parents' access to the material or remove it.
  • We tell you what we decided, and why.

Our indicative time to complete a review: [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: indicative time to review a copyright notice].

Indian law sets out specific timelines for some service providers that store other people's material: under the Copyright Rules, 2013 (Rule 75), a provider may need to disable access within 36 hours of a valid notice, for up to 21 days pending a court order. Those timelines may apply if Mauli Classes is treated as an intermediary for the material concerned. [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: whether Mauli Classes is treated as an intermediary for this purpose]

If your material was removed

Most material in Mauli Classes is uploaded by the Teacher. Students upload only photos of their own homework.

If material you uploaded is disabled or removed because of a notice, we will tell you. If you believe this was a mistake, for example because you own the material, have permission, or the use is allowed by law, you can send us a counter-response at support@mauliclasses.com with:

  • your name and contact details;
  • which material it concerns;
  • why you believe the use is allowed;
  • a statement that the information is accurate, and your signature.

We will consider your response, may share it with the person who sent the notice, and may restore the material if we are satisfied the use is lawful or if the rights holder does not take the matter further. If the matter goes to court, we will follow the court's orders.

Repeated misuse

If someone in the class repeatedly uploads or shares material they are not entitled to, the Teacher may pause or end their access, as explained in the Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use.

Please be accurate

Please send a notice only if you genuinely believe your rights are being infringed. A false or misleading notice can harm students and the class, and may have legal consequences for the sender.
