Acceptable Use Policy
Draft for review — not yet in effect.
Why we have these rules
Mauli Classes is a small class where families trust each other and the Teacher. These rules keep the app safe, fair and focused on learning. They apply to every student and parent, and they form part of the Terms of Use. Mauli Classes (operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad) asks parents to go through them with their children, and to read them aloud to a child who cannot yet read.
Be respectful
- Write politely in homework comments and in any message to the Teacher.
- Do not send anything rude, bullying, threatening, hateful or embarrassing about anyone.
- Do not pretend to be someone else.
Keep your account to yourself
- Each student and each parent has their own account. Do not share your password or sign-in, not even with a brother, sister or friend.
- Do not sign in to another person's account, even if you know their password.
- A parent should use their own account, not their child's, and a child should not use a parent's account.
- If you think someone else knows your password, change it and tell the Teacher.
Homework photos: only the homework
- Photograph only the homework page.
- Keep faces out, and do not include other people, ID cards, documents, addresses or anything that shows where you live.
- Upload only your own work for the homework it belongs to. Do not upload anything unrelated, unlawful or offensive.
Study material: for the student's own study
Study material in the app is shared with enrolled students for their own learning. These rules apply to students and parents alike:
- Use it only for the student's own study.
- Do not share, forward, post, upload or send it to anyone outside the class, including on WhatsApp, social media or file-sharing sites.
- Do not sell it, print it for others, or use it to teach other students or run another class.
- Do not remove, cover, crop out or edit the "MAULI CLASSES" watermark.
- Do not try to get around the viewer's screenshot and screen-recording protection, for example by using another device to photograph the screen, special apps or modified phones.
The protection in the viewer is designed to discourage copying. It cannot stop every method, so we rely on families to respect these rules. More detail is in the Study Material & Intellectual Property Policy at /study-material-policy.
Respect the app and other people's information
- Do not try to see records that are not meant for you, such as another student's marks.
- Do not copy, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this rule.
- Do not use bots, scripts or other automated tools to collect information from the app or website.
- Do not try to break into, test the security of, slow down or disrupt the app or the website, without the Teacher's written permission.
- Do not upload viruses or harmful files.
- If you find a security weakness by accident, do not use it. Tell the Teacher.
Reporting a problem
If you see something wrong, such as someone using another person's account, study material shared outside the class, unkind messages, or information you should not be able to see:
- Tell the Teacher, send a request from More → Privacy & account in the app, or use the Support form.
- Students can also tell a parent or guardian.
Honest reports will not get anyone into trouble.
Support and enquiry forms
The Support and Enquire about classes forms are for real questions and requests.
- Do not use them to send spam, advertising, abuse, threats or anything unlawful.
- Do not send messages pretending to be someone else, or other people's personal information.
- Do not send large numbers of messages or use automated tools to fill in the forms.
The forms limit how many messages can be sent, and messages that break these rules may be ignored or deleted.
What happens if the rules are broken
The Teacher will respond in proportion to what happened. Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, she may:
- talk to the student and parent and give a reminder;
- remove an unsuitable upload;
- pause the account for a while;
- end access to the app.
Where it is reasonable, she will talk to the parent first and give the family a chance to explain. In an urgent case, for example to protect a child or other families' information, she may act first and explain afterwards. Serious misuse of study material or other people's information may also have consequences under the law.
