Parent / Guardian Consent Notice

Mauli Classes · version 1.0-draft · effective 2026-10-14Draft — under review

Draft for review — not yet in effect.

Why we ask for your consent

Mauli Classes is operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad as an individual tuition/coaching provider. She is the Teacher who runs the class and the app.

Mauli Classes teaches Nursery, UKG and Class 1 to Class 12 (students from age 4). We treat every student as a child (under 18), so we ask a parent or guardian to agree before we use the student's information in the app. The app records the student's class, not a date of birth or age.

Your consent is given separately for each child linked to your account. It is not bundled with accepting the Terms of Use, and the checkbox is never ticked for you.

What you accept for yourself

Before you can use the app, you accept, each with its own checkbox:

  • the Terms of Use;
  • the Privacy Policy;
  • the Child & Student Privacy Notice;
  • the Acceptable Use Policy.

The statement you confirm for each child

For each child, the app shows this statement with the child's name, and you confirm it separately:

"I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of [child's name], or am authorized to give consent for [child's name], and I consent to Mauli Classes processing [child's name]'s information as described in the Child & Student Privacy Notice and the Parent / Guardian Consent Notice."

Nursery and UKG children

A child in Nursery or UKG has no login of their own. You use your own Parent account to follow the child's attendance, homework, fees, notices and progress, and the Teacher keeps the child's records. There is no student acknowledgement step for such a child. Your consent for the child is still required, and it covers the child. You can ask the Teacher at any time to delete such a child's record (through a privacy request in the app, the Support form or in person). The Teacher confirms who you are first; what is deleted and what is kept is explained on the Delete Your Account page at /delete-account.

Students from Class 1

A student from Class 1 has their own login and their own short step in the app, where they say they understand the rules. If your child is still learning to read, you may help them use the app and go through that step with them.

Your child's acknowledgement never replaces your consent. Your own consent, given from your own account, is always needed.

What you are consenting to

Purposes. Using your child's information to:

  • run the class: timetable, batches, attendance and announcements;
  • set, collect and review homework, including homework photos;
  • share study material with your child;
  • record tests, marks and results and show progress;
  • keep fee records of fees paid outside the app (you see these; your child does not; the app does not take payments);
  • send in-app notifications to you and your child, and in-app fee reminders to you only;
  • keep accounts secure and handle your privacy requests.

Information. Your child's name and preferred name, email (not for Nursery or UKG children, who have no login), phone (if given), class, board and batch, attendance and notes, homework and comments, the Teacher's feedback, homework photos, tests, marks, remarks and progress, fee records, notifications, sign-in and security records, and the consent records themselves. The Privacy Policy describes each one.

Who receives it. The Teacher; your child; you and any other linked parent who has also consented; and the service providers that run the app for us: Supabase (database and files, Mumbai region), Netlify (the Teacher's web portal, Singapore region) and Google's Gmail (password-reset emails only). Invitations are sent by the Teacher over WhatsApp from her own phone. We do not sell information, show ads, use analytics tools, or send information to any AI service.

How long. While your child is with the class, and afterwards as described below and in the Privacy Policy. [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: retention schedule for each category of information]

  • If your child leaves the class, that is not a deletion request. The Teacher marks your child as having left and switches off your child's app access. The class keeps your child's attendance, progress and fee history for 12 months after leaving, then reviews it. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — 12-month former-student retention]
  • If your child comes back and the record was not deleted, the Teacher can reactivate the same record. You (and your child, from Class 1) will then be asked to accept any policy versions that have changed.
  • If an account, or a young child's record, is deleted, attendance, marks and fee records are kept without your child's name or contact details, linked to an internal reference (de-identified, not anonymous). See the Privacy Policy.

How the Teacher confirms who you are

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 ask organisations to check that a person consenting for a child is an identifiable adult, when those Rules apply. The Teacher already does this before your consent takes effect:

  • She records, once for each parent, how she confirmed that you are an adult and the child's parent or guardian: met in person at admission, already known to her, or another method with a short note.
  • We do not collect or store any ID document, ID number or copy. The app refuses notes that look like ID numbers.
  • This record is the Teacher's own confirmation. It is not your consent, and the Teacher cannot give consent for you. Only you can give it, from your own account.

Whether this method fully meets the legal requirement is being reviewed by our lawyer. [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: whether the Teacher's recorded identity check is sufficient for verifiable parental consent]

When your consent takes effect

  • You can use the app once you have accepted the four policies, the Teacher has recorded the identity check, and you have decided on every child linked to you.
  • Your child (from Class 1) can use the app once they have read and acknowledged their own rules (with your help if needed) and at least one linked, identity-checked parent has given consent for them. A Nursery or UKG child does not use the app; your consent lets you see the child's records in your own account.
  • You see only the children for whom you have given consent.

More than one child

If several children are linked to you, you confirm the statement for each child separately. You can give or withdraw consent for one child without affecting the others.

More than one parent

If two parents or guardians are linked to the same child, each decides for themselves. Your child can use the app as long as at least one of you has an active consent.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it:

  • In the app: More → Privacy & account → Consent for your children → Withdraw consent, then confirm.

What happens next:

  • The child disappears from your app straight away.
  • Your child's own access stops, unless another linked parent still has an active consent.
  • A request is opened for the Teacher with a reference number, and she is told in the app. She decides whether your child's information should be deleted or kept, through the privacy-request process, and will tell you the outcome. If you want the information deleted, say so in a privacy request.
  • Anything done before you withdrew remains valid.
  • You can give consent again later from the same screen.

Records we keep of your consent

We keep a record of each acceptance and consent: which policy version, the exact text (by a digital fingerprint), which child, when, whether it came from the app or the web, and when it was withdrawn. These records cannot be edited, and we keep them as evidence of what you agreed to, also after an account is deleted (without your name or contact details). We do not store your IP address, device identifier or password with them. The Teacher sees only whether consent is complete, pending or withdrawn.
