Your Privacy Choices & Grievances

Mauli Classes · version 1.0-draft · effective 2026-10-14Draft — under review

Draft for review — not yet in effect.

Your choices at a glance

You have choices about the information Mauli Classes keeps about you and your child. Mauli Classes is operated by Rani Mayur Gaikwad as an individual tuition/coaching provider.

Certain provisions of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 are already in force. The main obligations about processing, consent, children's data and your rights that are relevant to Mauli Classes are scheduled to start on 13 May 2027. Mauli Classes is putting many of these protections in place early, as a privacy and child-safety practice. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — final commencement wording] Mauli Classes offers these choices now.

For a student, the parent or guardian normally makes requests. A student can also ask the Teacher or a parent for help.

How to make a request

  • In the app: More → Privacy & account → Send a privacy request. Choose the type of request and add a short description. Parents can name the child in the description. You can do this even before you have finished accepting the policies.
  • With the Support form: in the app or on our website, choose the category "Privacy / Data". It can be used for questions, access and correction, even if you cannot sign in. Account deletion has its own path (see "Delete your account" below).
  • By email: support@mauliclasses.com. Please give your name, the student's name and your registered email address or phone number so we can find your account.

Every request receives a reference number (it looks like PR-XXXXXXXX). Please quote it if you contact us about the request.

Your rights and how to use them

See your information (access)

Ask for a summary of the information we keep about you or your child, what we use it for, and which service providers we share it with. Use a Privacy request and choose "A copy of my data".

Correct or update your information

Ask us to correct information that is wrong, complete information that is missing, or update information that has changed, such as a phone number or a mistake in a record. Use a Privacy request and choose "Correct my data". Marks and attendance are corrected by the Teacher after she has checked them.

Erase information

Ask us to delete information we no longer need. Use a Privacy request; if there is no closer option, choose "Something else" and describe what you want deleted. Some records may be kept without names or contact details, linked to an internal reference (de-identified, not anonymous), as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Delete your account

More → Privacy & account → Delete my account in the app, or the Delete Your Account page at /delete-account. If you cannot use either, use the Support form and the Teacher will record the request for you. Your access stops straight away. The Delete Your Account page explains what is deleted and what is kept. If the student later returns to the class, their old records cannot be restored after a deletion.

Leaving the class is different

Stopping or leaving classes is not a deletion request. When a student leaves, the Teacher marks the student as having left and switches off app access. The class keeps a former student's history for 12 months after leaving, and then reviews it; a returning student's record can be reactivated. If you want information deleted, make a separate request as described above. A deletion request is not held back by the 12-month period.

Withdraw consent for a child

Parents: More → Privacy & account → Consent for your children → Withdraw consent. It is as easy as giving consent. The child disappears from your app, and the child's access stops unless another linked parent still has an active consent. The Teacher then decides, through the request process, whether the child's information is deleted or kept, and tells you. You can give consent again later. See the Parent / Guardian Consent Notice at /parent-consent.

Nominate someone

You can name another person to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to act for yourself. Use a Privacy request, choose "Nominate someone", and give the person's name and how to contact them. [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: how a nomination is recorded and verified]

Make a complaint (grievance)

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information or a request, use a Privacy request and choose "A complaint", or use the Support form.

How we handle requests

We are a small class, so we want to be clear about how this works:

  • Requests are handled by hand by the Teacher, not by an automatic system.
  • Every request is tracked from when it is opened, through being worked on, to being completed or refused. If we refuse a request, we tell you why.
  • We may need to confirm who you are before acting, especially for requests about a child. We do this to protect the family's information.
  • The Teacher will contact you when your request is completed. The app does not send automatic emails about requests.
  • Account deletions have no fixed deadline yet. We aim to complete verified requests as quickly as practical. [LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED — maximum time to complete a deletion]
  • Our target response time: [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: target response time for privacy requests and grievances]. When the relevant Data Protection Rules apply to Mauli Classes, grievances will have to be answered within a period that cannot exceed 90 days; we aim to respond well within that.

Raising a grievance

You can raise a grievance with Mauli Classes in the app (More → Privacy & account → Send a privacy request → "A complaint") or through the Support form in the app or on our website. [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED — grievance/contact terminology under the DPDP Rules]

If you are still not satisfied

Please give us the chance to resolve your complaint first. When the relevant provisions of the law apply, our grievance process is expected to be used before a complaint goes further. If you remain unhappy, you may be able to complain to the Data Protection Board of India once the relevant provisions of the law are in force. [OWNER/LAWYER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: wording and contact route for complaints to the Data Protection Board of India]

Please be fair

Please give accurate information, do not pretend to be someone else, and do not make false or frivolous complaints. Indian data protection law, as it comes into force, also asks this of people making requests. This helps us look after every family's information properly.

Other things you control

  • No marketing to opt out of: we do not send marketing messages, show ads or use analytics. An enquiry about classes is used only to reply to it.
  • No payments in the app: the app only records fees paid outside the app.
  • Cookies: only the sign-in cookies needed for the website are used (see /cookies).
  • Photos: you choose which homework photos to send. The camera is used only when you tap "Camera".
